The Clothing Loop

We are introducing local swapping, all year round: meet the Clothing Loop This initiative offers an easy way for people to swap clothes with others in their own neighborhood. The idea is simple: bags filled with clothes travel along a route past all participants in a neighborhood. When the bag arrives at your place, you take out what you like and put back what you do not wear anymore. Then you drop it off at the next person in the loop. HOW DOES IT WORK? – Go to and find a loop – Join the loop you want to be part of – The host of your local Loop will add you to the route as soon as possible. After that, it is only a matter of time before the first bag will arrive! 👉 Clothing Swap Bergen has set up 3 loops to get started. Two in Sandviken and one in Landås. More info and tickets

How does it work?
Dive into your closet and collect a max. of 7 clothing items, shoes, bags/purses or jewelry. At the swap, you will receive points for each item, depending on its type and quality. Next, take your time to look through our well-stocked racks for some nice items and pay for them with the points you received. The clothes you brought will be made available for newly arriving swappers and you’ll leave with your newly swapped outfit! As we have our own stock, there are clothes available from the very beginning. Note: You can bring any points received at former events.

Clothing Swap Bergen is made possible by a team of volunteers with a heart for sustainable fashion. Follow us on Instagram: @clothing_swap_bergen

Tekstilindustrimuseet is a former knitwear factory: Salhus Tricotagefabrik (1859–1989). You’ll learn about how clothes were produced here.

Sewing Club

In our mission to promote slow fashion, Clothing Swap Bergen wants to create a community and environment where repair and handmade creation are in focus. The sewing club is a monthly social gathering where all participants work on their own projects. There is no instructor, but we help each other along the way. Sewing machines and basic materials are provided, as well as good music, tea, coffee and some light snacks.

All meetings are on Wednesdays, from 19.00-22.00 at Manufakturhuset. In fall 2023 there’s two groups:

Group 1: August 16, September 13, October 11, November 15, December 13
Group 2: August 23, September 20, October 18, November 22, December 20

The sewing club is now full! Register here for a spot on the waiting list.
